Naturally Learning celebrated five years of success this June since it opened its first nursery in St Austell.
Now with four childcare settings in St Austell and Truro, the nursery has gone from strength to strength in its five years, employing over 60 staff and providing childcare to over 200 children.
“I can’t really believe it’s been five whole years,” said Managing Director, Mandy Richardson. “It’s flown by! I’m so proud of the team and all they’ve achieved. But most of all I’m proud of the hundreds of children we’ve nurtured over the years – watching them grow in confidence and ability is the best reward we could ask for.”
To mark the milestone, Naturally Learning hosted a free family festival at its Poltair setting, where local families were invited to join the party.
The event featured a number of stalls, including a cake stall and face-painting, all raising money for the Children’s Hospice South West.
Despite the changeable weather, scores of people attended the festival, getting involved in the face-painting, making nature headbands and toasting their own marshmallows on an open fire.
The event raised £100 for the charity.
“It’s been a fantastic morning,” enthused Tracey Rundle, manager of Naturally Learning Poltair. “The team pulled out all the stops to showcase all we offer here, from the salt tray to the mud kitchen. Thank you to all of the parents and children who joined us to mark our fifth year.”
Naturally Learning offers full-time childcare from birth to four years, also providing holiday clubs during the school breaks. The four nurseries all specialise in outdoor learning, giving children the freedom and space to explore their environment and further their early years education at their own pace.
The Poltair nursery has undergone significant refurbishments since it was first opened in 2012. Recent additions have included a mud kitchen, a covered outdoor classroom, an indoor climbing frame and a sensory sleep room.
“Our doors are always open for parents to come and visit us,” said nursery manager, Tracey. “Our weekly stay and play sessions are a great opportunity to meet the team, try out the resources and get to know us.”
